If you can get past this product not having consistent sizing then this is an overall great product. I ordered a medium based off prior reviews and it fits perfect (normally a large in all UA).
The material on the shoulder area is higher quality which seems like it can take a lot of wear and tear. The material below that is honestly the best material you can put under a ballistic vest, external or internal.
I'd actually like to see this exact shirt made without the velcro spot, as it is essentially useless for standard SWAT teams and patrol uniforms. I don't see a practical use for that velcro spot outside of maybe training? I ordered the dark navy blue and it is pictures as if there is a zipper on the sleeve. There is not one, so UA needs to update this page.
I am usually a Medium in UA. This Medium was closer to L/XL.
I would ask UA to try and get a little more consistent with sizing for all of their clothing. As an avid internet shopper, it's pretty disappointing to receive something that is very different in size to a similar item you have bought before.
I feel like the previous reviewer perhaps did not read the item description and may have bought this shirt for the wrong purpose.
It's designed to be worn under body armour and be able to handle the abuse that entails. Most shirts pill and wear through in just a couple times wearing them under body armour. This one does not. It definitely does its job in keeping you cool and comfortable while wearing an armour carrier. The fabric on the shoulders is also somewhat slick so it allows the armour to move naturally with your body increasing the comfort even more. Without armour on the shirt still looks great (in the appropriate application). The shoulders are NOT puffy by any means. The loop on the sleeve is perfect for a shoulder flash, ID panel, or insignia (again specific purpose) and nice to have.
My job involves a significant amount of physical training while wearing armour and I wish I discovered these shirts long ago, what a difference. Very well done UA.
The only critique I have is that they run fairly loose in the torso. At a 41 inch chest and 33 inch waist the Large fits my chest/arms/shoulders perfectly but runs loose down to my waist. I expected them to taper in a little more like other UA shirts but I assume this is a symptom of using the two different fabrics. Hopefully UA can improve on that slightly in the future.
Either way full marks since the shirt does exactly what it's supposed to and looks and feels great while doing it.
The second I saw this I put it in my cart. I really liked the design of the shirt on the website. Couldn't wait for it to arrive! Then...a huge, unforeseeable disappointment. It was a size to big, but that wasn't the biggest issue. UA tried to make a waterproof material on top (the camo), but it feels like you're wearing shoulder pads. The material is very uncomfortable & unflattering by the look. The shoulders are poofy & just ugly. Should've made this shirt all one polyester material, but keep the color scheme. That is what I thought I was getting & looking ever so forward to. It wouldn't be any different if you cut a rain jacket & sewed it to a cotton shirt. Weird idea! The patch on the sleeve is very large & bulky as well. Not sure the reasoning for this. I'm confused. If you tried to make this shirt more tacky & uncomfatble, I don't think you could. Not at all the way I preceived it based on the pictures.
